Should I Go To Puppy Classes?
There is so much to think about when you get a new puppy that you may forget about or decide against puppy training classes. Although many people successfully train their own puppies without the aid of a class or trainer there is one important benefit that you will most certainly miss out on if your don’t register with a class. Classes provide you with a safe environment within which to socialize you puppy with other dogs and other humans outside of the family circle.
Many people falsely believe that by introducing a dog to friends and family and allowing their dog to sniff a few dogs around the neighbourhood they have adequately socialized their puppy. However this is not the case. Puppies need to be exposed to a wide range of other dogs and plenty of other humans too.
Puppy training classes are recommended for all puppies. They help you to teach your canine friend some manners when interacting with other dogs. If a puppy is not taught properly they may jump up at strange dogs and that is potentially dangerous for them. Some dogs will not appreciate your puppy’s boisterous behaviour and make correct them aggressively. It will also make them better behaved around people – remember not everyone finds dogs cute!
