Help ‘Sticky’ Dogs

Posted by: Francine  :  Category: Dogs

The Dog Trust charity cares for around 15,000 homeless dogs across it 17 re-homing centres across the UK.  The aim is to find the loving new owners however there are some dogs that are difficult t re-home due to things like behavioural issues for example and they may ‘stick’ at a re-homing centre for some time.  These dogs have been nicknamed ‘sticky’ dogs.

The charity will not put down healthy dogs and sticky dogs are kept at the re-homing centres for life.  To help support these dogs the charity is offering people the opportunity to sponsor a sticky dog.  This is perfect if you’ve always craved a pet dog but simply don’t have the space or time.

The chief executive of the Dog’s Trust, Clarissa Baldwin said:

‘These dogs may not be suitable as pets, but they’ve got loads of love to give – and you’ll have a friend for life.  We receive no government funding and depend on the generosity of the public.’

Sponsoring a sticky dog can cost as less as £1.00 per week.  You’ll be contributing towards food, medical care and training.  In return you’ll get regular updates on the dog’s progress, free gifts and a photo f your new doggie friend.  To join call the Dog’s Trust on 0207 837 0006.
