Hamsters are busy industrious creatures and can become bored very easily if they are not provided with entertainment and distraction. This can lead to antisocial behaviour like gnawing bars on the cage for example.

Hamsters
The Syrian hamster is a lovely family pet, being both easy to care for and with regular attention they can become tame very quickly. Hamsters are great pets for both children and adults alike but they are nocturnal creatures sleeping most of the day so I wouldn’t recommend you keeping them in a bedroom. On average they live up to 2.5 years.
