A common misconception about dogs is that when they yawn that they muxt be tired - this is not always the case. The loyal dog - mans best friend is often known to ape what their owners do, and this can include yawning when YOU appear tired.
Another reason that scientists have given for dogs yawning is that they may be giving you a signal that they are bored and simply want you to play with them.

According to recent figures released by the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), a staggering 35 percent of dogs are currently overweight. Cats are faring no better, as apparently one in every four cats is fatter than they should be.
Vets are advising that pet owners get out of the habit of feeding snacks to their cats and dogs, as well as avoiding buying fatty, sugary or other unhealthy pet food or treats for them. Experts are also citing the Lent period as the best time to change your pet’s diet, as you can do it along with your own diet plan.

What is it about animal these days we just love to spoil them, don’t we? When looking at the market there mountains of websites and products aimed just for pampering your pets
Recently my friend was moving house and was contemplating what furniture would fit and what really was either ready for chucking or else wouldn’t fit.
As the deco in the new place was all very moderns she really just wanted an excuse to get rid and start a fresh. Lucky of you have the budget, MTV cribs have a lot to answer for. Anyway there are basic items that one would natural think of would the sofa fit, will the Bedroom Furniture look out of place, but she went a step further… will the dog bed look out of place in the back bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I don’t know what alarmed me more about that sentence, the fact that the dog bed had to match the room or the fact that her pooch had its own bedroom!
Following which we are now on the hunt for the perfectly dog bed and the new sofa has gone on a back burner! I have found four poster beds with leather head boards, seen brass legs beds in the shape of crown and even miniature over paddered couches.

But the best thing I have found has to be the miniature ‘antique’ wardrobe I have found with draws and actually hanging rail inside
I am pleased to report my friend decided it was a tad old fashioned looking but gave us a giggle all the same

I am having a nightmare at the moment with my pets they seem to be getting fur all over my furniture and are malting which causes fur balls all over my wooden floors, my office furniture and even my office chair is getting covered and they are not even allowed in there.
I have already tried the stupid brushes which cost an absolute fortune, all the shampoos in the supermarkets which by the way absolutely pong and covering my furniture but nothing seems to be working.
I have seriously got to the point of thinking whether or not to shave my dogs in a grade 0 to solve my problem but then that is just cruel and i would have to spend more money on buying clothes for him in this cold English weather.
I am nearly at the point where i hate my friend who convinced me that i needed a canine friend to keep me company when my boyfriend dumped me, i wish i had bought a gold fish called bubbles which had a bridge, scuber diver and pink stones as i would not be having half these problems.
If anyone knows of any good ideas on how to stop this happening let me know.

I have been looking for some outdoor equipment which is going to be practical for my pets as I really want an outdoor wicker sofa with 2 chairs but I know that my dogs will leave dirty foot prints on them but I am bored of the same old wooden table and chairs that you can buy anywhere which you end up varnashing every year as they have gone dull.
I have seen a great set of outdoor equipment in Marks & Spencers have a great deal on a set of all weather furniture by their Autograph range which is at a really good price but the seat cussions are white which will not last long at all..
Another good company to look at is Homebase because they do some funky BBQ’s and the best bit about doing a BBQ is that you can cook some chicken or sausages and feed your pet a treat which they will love you for.

Dogs
Pet dogs are great for a good number of different reasons, including but not limited to, someone who will always love you no matter what, someone who will protect you when you are in danger and someone you can care for.
A reason that is often overlooked, however, is the ability for dogs to improve relationships between people. They offer a connection between couples that isn’t quite as much of a burden as a child can be, offering them a stepping stone in looking after another living being.
Dogs can even help to form new relationships, you can meet like minded people while walking your dog and it is usually a great conversation starter when two dog-lovers meet up whilst walking their canines, this gives you a free dating excuse straight away.
You can even use free dating websites where you can find other people that like dogs, helping you to meet like-minded people to yourself.
Families can be brought closer simply by getting a new pet dog, it’s amazing how much children and parents alike interact with one another with the addition of a domestic animal to a household. It also helps to ensure the owners are kept healthy by taking their dogs, and themselves, out for regular walks.

The RSPCA deal with many cases of neglect but the one that has stood out for me most this month is the mystery of the St Bernard breeder. The RSPCA, the famous animal welfare charity, successfully retrieved not one, not two, not even twenty but a staggering one hundred St Bernard dogs, The stud dogs and bitches were found at a kennels situated in Northants and the alarm went up after their breeder-owner disappeared. Advent calendars for dogs are fast becoming a norm in my house. It takes Tashi, my shih tzu no time at all to cotton on that there is food to be had from that cardboard contraption up on the kitchen counter! The ritual in the morning after he has jumped around like a demented pogo stick for five minutes is to bead me intently until I remember that its advent calendar time.

The Doberman has consistently increased in popularity over the past few years but unfortunately all too often the people who buy them have failed to research the breed and its characteristics. As a result many Dobermans end up at rescue homes ad these handsome and noble dogs are falsely labeled as being aggressive simply due to the ignorance of their previous owner.
